November’s Ipsy Haul!

Yes! Finally! Hey, I promised you guys I’d get these out, didn’t I?

2015 11 24 full November Ipsy bag Border

This month’s bag is nice. I love the stellar pattern on it! Though it’s not my favorite bag they’ve sent, it’s still pretty good. Now for the goodies inside…

The eye shadow is: Luxie Beauty Matte Eyeshadow Pan No. 290. The color I received was Aubergine (eggplant). At first I was afraid it would be way too dark for what I usually do with my eyes, but it’s relatively easy to put just a little on and build up the color. It’s very satiny, and while the color wouldn’t last all day, it’s still something I’d use. (I just wish I had a compact for the little pots!)

The lip crayon is: tre’StiQue Mini Matte Lip Crayon. This was sent out in either Florence Fig (a neutral brownish color) or Chile Red (which is what I got!). I’ve received a couple things from tre’StiQue in Ipsy bags before, and I have to say I like what I’ve gotten so far. Because this was a matte lipstick, I was a bit wary – they always turn out so dry. This one wasn’t bad at all, though. The tiniest bit dry, I thought, but definitely wearable! (The link is for the full-size with a matching lip balm on the other end of the crayon. This wasn’t included in the Ipsy mini version.)

The highlighting palette is: ModelCo Highlighting Trio. The colors in this little palette are Champagne (the lightest), Peach Bellini (the pinkish for your apples), and Bronze (for your shadows). I’m always worried highlighters like this will be too shimmery and sparkly for me to wear if I’m not going to a party or a club, but these are perfectly subtle. Just the right amount of shimmer and a kiss of color, perfect for daytime wear, too! They look very natural. Thank you for introducing me to this trio, Ipsy!

The mascara is: Smashbox Cosmetics Full Exposure Mascara. Hello? It’s Smashbox. I lovelovelove finding Smashbox, Tarte and theBalm cosmetics in my Ipsy bag! I’ll admit I didn’t try this mascara, simply because I already have mascaras out the wazoo, and I’m really partial to Benefit’s Roller Lash right now. It was a hard decision, though, because I love me some Smashbox. This will be going into the Giveaway Drawer, for when I finally have a giveaway. (It’s coming up, don’t worry!)

The hairspray is: CoolWay Stronghold Spray. On the company’s site, you can purchase a 3.3 ounce spray bottle of this for $19.95. Honestly, I was not so impressed by this formula to pay that kind of money for hair spray, especially since I don’t use it every day. It smells nice, and the hold is okay, but that full sized bottle looks like it would be clunky as hell if you’re doing your own hair. Sorry, Ipsy, but this one is a no.

Three things I will be using, one I’ll be giving away, and one that will be shoved into a corner for dire hairspray emergencies. Not bad for Ipsy!  And if you’d like to try these wonderful glam bags, too, here’s the link to get you started: Get Started With Ipsy! It’s only $10 a month, and no commitment!

She holds a huge love for history (from WWI through the end of WWII, Victorian, Regency, and Elizabethan eras), some science fiction, and likes to pass the time reading, working with photography and needlework, and writing things. Lots of things. Syd likes to dance, too, but she looks like an utter goob doing so!

    1. Oooh, you should! It’s fun getting the glam bags each month, and for only $10! Plus they run really good deals on their website for cosmetics, and you can earn points and use them for specific items. I just got a moisturizer from pur-Lisse with my points, and I love it. Great way to try things out! There’s a link at the bottom of this post ( and yes, you get bonus points when people sign up using your link – I won’t lie! LOL)
